Physicians Healthy Hub

Medical Director Services for Medical Practice Owners

Every state has its own laws around who can own, manage, and operate a medical practice. In many states, non-physicians can’t legally offer treatments or own the practice. That’s why you need a medical director and clearly defined policies and procedures to protect yourself from legal or financial liability.

At Physicians Healthy Hub, we help you establish a medical practice that is legally compliant and medically sound. Our licensed physicians serve as your medical director, developing SOPs, treatment protocols, emergency procedures, and staff training to ensure patient safety and protect your license.

What is a Medical Director?

A medical director is a licensed physician who provides medical oversight and guidance to a healthcare business. They are responsible for ensuring the clinic operates within legal and ethical standards, that treatments are evidence-based, and that staff are properly trained and supervised.

What Does a Medical Director Do?

A medical director ensures your medical practice operates legally and safely. Depending on your needs, they may:

  • Develop or review standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Approve treatment protocols
  • Supervise licensed staff or mid-level providers
  • Provide ongoing medical oversight
  • Help respond to medical emergencies
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations

Why Do I Need a Medical Director?

State medical boards and health departments require physician oversight for certain treatments, medications, or clinical procedures. If you’re offering aesthetic or wellness treatments that involve prescription drugs, injections, or medical-grade devices, you likely need a medical director.

Working with a licensed physician helps you:

  • Stay compliant with state laws and licensing requirements
  • Reduce legal and financial risks
  • Provide safe, medically appropriate care
  • Support your staff with expert medical guidance

What Services Are Included?

Each client relationship is different, but services often include:

  • Monthly or quarterly meetings
  • Protocol and procedure development
  • Emergency response planning
  • Staff training and competency review
  • Chart review and compliance audits
  • Telemedicine consultations and oversight
  • Ongoing support via phone or email

We can also help with startup guidance, such as choosing your entity structure, creating consent forms, and setting up compliance policies for your medical practice.

How Much Does a Medical Director Cost?

Medical director fees vary depending on your services, patient volume, and state requirements. Most of our clients pay between $1,500–$5,000 per month. We also offer hourly consultations and startup packages.

How Do I Choose the Right Medical Director?

The best medical director is one who understands your treatments and shares your commitment to patient safety. Our physicians are board-certified in specialties such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, and anesthesiology. We carefully match each client with a physician who understands their services and local regulations.
